GUELPH — Jada Codrington of the Lourdes Crusaders and Maggie Franz of the Orangeville Bears were named the District 10 high school girls’ basketball all-stars Monday night at the league’s all-star games in both senior and junior.

Codrington was the MVP of the senior loop and Franz tops in the junior league. Both helped their teams to D10 titles.

On the floor, action was as expected for all-star games with plenty of end-to-end action as the result didn’t really matter. Defence also took a back seat in the junior match while the seniors got a little more physical in their approach.

The senior game saw Team B edge Team A 44-40 while Team B also won the junior match 61-51. Scores are according to player point totals on the scoresheets.

In both games, Team A wore their school’s white home jerseys while Team B wore road uniforms.

Rainey Psenicka connected for 17 points for Team A in senior while Ali Darling had nine and Lauren Zonneveld eight.

Grace Drewry had 15 for Team B while Abbey MacIntyre had seven and Leah Parisotto and Sophia Nash netted six apiece.

Yasmine Saleh had 12 points for Team B in junior while Grace Mencfeld added nine and Ashley Coverdale had eight.

Sarah Hopkins had 14 for Team A while Julia Zonneveld collected 13 and Lauren Foullong contributed 10.
