Phoenix Team Makeup (continued)

The GYBA board will provide for a schedule that includes the Ontario Basketball Championships, the Guelph Phoenix Tournament and up to 3 additional tournaments.

Any tournaments that a team wishes to participate beyond that will be at the expense of the parents or through GYBA Board approved fundraising.

Phoenix (Rep) Program Fees

An annual registration fee is assessed to fund most of the expenses of the program. The fee for the 2010-2011 season is $375 per participant, plus a recoverable fundraising fee of $150.00

Phoenix (Rep) Program Time Commitment

The rep basketball season runs between the beginning of October to April for players under 14, the beginning of December to the end of May for girls aged 14 – 19, and the beginning of March to the end of May players for boys aged 14-19. Teams may get together socially or for informal practices before the season on an optional basis. The absences policy described in the Policies and Procedures only applies to official practices.

The Phoenix teams typically practice or play games 3 nights a week for 1 to 2 hours each and participate in traveling tournaments. In general, there will be 2 practice times and 1 P3 session. Coaches and players are strongly encouraged to attend their designated P3 sessions. (continued on next page)
