The Guelph Youth Basketball Association is deeply saddened by the passing of Nash Dunlop, age 16. Nash was a former member of our Club. He joined the Jr. Gryphons at a young age and played in our rep programs.
A Gifted Athlete and Teammate
Nash brought energy, determination and passion to everything he did. He loved basketball. People knew him for his athleticism, his competitive spirit and his commitment to his teammates.
He was always eager to learn and grow his game. Many coaches and trainers, in Guelph and beyond, supported his growth as a player and remember him well.
Part of the GYBA Family

The Dunlop family has been part of the GYBA community for many years. That includes Nash's brother Drew, his dad Brady Dunlop, who coached, and his mom Erin Edwards, who cheered them on.
The Dunlop family has shown what it means to be part of a community and give back to the people around you. We are mourning alongside them.
Nash had an amazing spirit. He connected with people of all ages, on and off the court. That has been clear to all of us over the past few weeks. We are heartbroken for his family, his friends and everyone who loved him.
Honouring Nash's Memory
In moments like this, we see the power of community. Here are two ways to honour Nash.
Give to the Nash Dunlop Memorial Fund. The Guelph Community Foundation holds this fund. It helps basketball thrive at John F. Ross CVI and across our community. Donate to the Nash Dunlop Memorial Fund.
Order a memorial tee. Nash's family first wore these shirts at his celebration of life. They show his Ross Royals team logo, with his name and number on the back. All proceeds go to the Nash Dunlop Memorial Fund. Order a Nash Dunlop memorial tee.
