Policies & By-laws

The Guelph Youth Basketball Association Board of Directors is governed by the by-laws of the Corporation in accordance with the Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010.
GYBA policies and procedures align with the policies of the Ontario Basketball Association, the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (including the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport), and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (including the SafeSport framework).
GYBA's Corporation by-laws are reviewed on an annual basis at the Annual General Meeting of Members. Our AGM is typically in June and is open to all GYBA Members.

THE ONTARIO BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION IS THE GOVERNING BODY FOR AMATEUR BASKETBALL IN ONTARIO. GYBA IS A MEMBER CLUB OF THE OBA IN GOOD STANDING AND AS SUCH WE ADHERE TO ALL OBA POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.

GYBA SUPPORTS AND OPERATES UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE OBA. TO THE EXTENT THAT ANY PREVIOUSLY EXISTING, OUTDATED, OR PAST-POSTED GYBA POLICIES OR PROCEDURES DO NOT ALIGN WITH THOSE OF THE OBA, THE OBA POLICIES AND PROCEDURES (INCLUDING THE OBA TRANSFER POLICY) SUPERSEDE THOSE OF GYBA.
